For a small town, Garwood packs a lot of punch! Coming in at under one square mile with just over 4,000 residents, Garwood is sandwiched between the much larger towns of Cranford and Westfield. Commuters who are living in Garwood, NJ, love that the town has its own NJ Transit train station and bus stop. Plus, it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Parkway entrances. 

Lincoln School in Garwood educates grades K through 8th grade; having just one central school creates a very tight-knit community where everyone seems to know and look out for each other. Beginning in 9th grade, public school students attend Arthur L. Johnson High School in the neighboring town of Clark.

A tiny town with a lot to love

For a borough of diminutive size, Garwood is not short on terrific restaurants, shops and every modern convenience. Recreation is in great supply as well, with two large public parks, a vintage bowling alley open 365 days a year, and an “escape room” establishment opening soon. And with annual events such as the popular Garwood Rocks music festival, Garwood is not a town to overlook on the map.
