Want to feel “metropolitan?” The Artist Framer, located at 17 North Avenue East in Cranford, showcases the work of a different local artist each month. Receptions for these shows are always open to the public. Wouldn’t that be a fun thing to do with friends . . . meet for dinner and drinks, go to a local art show, and enjoy some time and refreshments together? And wouldn’t your friends be impressed with your “savoir faire?”
The Artist Framer, known in town for its eye-catching and welcoming purple and yellow exterior, also offers custom and ready-made framing, photo and painting restorations, and a variety of other art-related services. This Friday, December 7th, from 6:00-8:00 PM, everyone in the area is invited to the art opening featuring the paintings of local award winning pastel artist Jeri Greenberg. Ms. Greenberg is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design and is an illustrator with more than twenty years of commissioned experience in fashion, portraits and landscapes. Her art has received many honors, including the winner of the Connecticut Pastel Society Award. Ms. Greenberg also teaches workshops and classes throughout the year at the Westfield Adult School.
Greenberg is quoted on her website as saying, “Pastels are pure color and pure joy for me. I am forever learning to ease nuances out of my subject, be it a person, an everyday object, or a scene in nature. To portraits and figurative work, I have added a love of landscapes and still lifes as well.”
