To whom it may concern,
Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of working with Sharon Steele on the sale of our home as well as the purchase of our new home in the Union county area. We had worked with other agents in the past, but Sharon was by far the most professional, knowledgeable, and reliable agent that we have ever worked with.
To give a little background, we met Sharon after a deal fell through on a home we were purchasing. She was recommended to us by a friend who had also recently used her services and was very happy. Over a 2 ½ year period, Sharon sent us weekly updates on the housing market in our target area and recommended homes that we might want to consider. She even took the time to go to an open house for us to see if the home would be a good fit while we were on vacation. Overall, Sharon took us to approximately 25 homes over that period of time before we found the home that we ended up purchasing.
When it came time to sell, we wanted Sharon to be involved in the transaction. She contacted a colleague in the Middlesex county area and they partnered together to sell our house. She brought in a stager to see how we could make our home more marketable. After we followed her recommendations and listed our home, the house was sold within 4 days of putting it on the market. The homes in our immediate area were sitting on the market for much longer periods of time with other agents.
While we were in attorney review on our sale, Sharon then went to work on negotiating the offer on our purchase. We finally settled on a price and proceeded to attorney review. From the very beginning we had issues with the seller that ranged from allowing us access to the house to have our inspection to answering us in a timely fashion. Through it all Sharon kept us appraised step by step. Her follow-up skills were amazing. There were many times when it was late at night or she was out to dinner and she would return our text or email.
There were several times that both deals seemed that they would fall through because we had reached an impasse and somehow Sharon and her team were able to guide us through it and continuing moving the deals forward.
During our inspection, our inspector found issues with the furnace in our new home. It was system failure that caused the furnace to be unsafe. We requested a concession from the seller to repair the furnace and were told that he would not give us a nickel. Sharon was able to advise the listing agent that this was a major issue and had to be disclosed to any other buyer and that it must be remedied. Through her persistence and negotiation skills, she was able to successfully get us a concession for the majority of the cost.
To say that this transaction was incredibly difficult would be a gross understatement. It was contentious to the very end. During the final walk through, the house was left in such a disgusting mess that Sharon called her personal cleaning service to come and clean the house before we moved our family in. She picked up the entire cost of their services and said that this was her house warming gift to us. This is something she clearly did not have to do, but it just goes to show what kind of person she really is.
Having now known and worked with Sharon, we would recommend her to anyone looking for a realtor. We would not be in our home today if it were not for her hard work, dedication, knowledge, persistence, and straight forward professional attitude. She is by far the best realtor we have ever had the pleasure of working with and, in our opinion, is by far the best real estate agent in Union county. We would definitely reach out to her in the future for any of our real estate needs.

In Summer/Fall of 2013 Sharon sold our home in Cranford, not once, but two times, after we decided not to move forward with the initial sale. In both instances, Sharon was able to secure asking price offers, and in the first instance, a contingency that we find another home to move into- three significant accomplishments in a troubled market. Additionally, after extensive renovations to our home, it was very difficult to find comparables in the neighborhood, and thus, to know exactly how to price it. Sharon also helped us successfully navigate the purchase of our new home, also in Cranford, in such a way that we avoided a bidding war and secured a price significantly under market value.
In both instances, the sale and purchase of our homes, Sharon was the consummate professional- always available to answer our questions and to provide guidance at every milestone that presented itself during the transactions. Sharon also has an extensive list of reliable professionals that she can recommend from during the process to handle the seemingly endless number of hurdles that inevitably arise in the sale or purchase of a home.
Finally, from the moment we met Sharon at the home of a mutual friend, until the purchase of our new home, we have always been impressed by Sharon’s knowledge of the market- whenever we asked her about a home that had just come on the market, she had already seen it and was able to offer her thoughts on whether it met the criteria that she knew we had for a new home. My husband and I recently had the pleasure of working with Sharon Steele. We were starting to look for our first home and had very little experience and knowledge of real estate and the business of buying a house. She immediately put us at ease and helped us figure out what areas we wanted to explore and what types of houses we should look at for our family. Whereas many people would tell us what we wanted to hear, Sharon was very honest and forthcoming and we really appreciated that. After seeing a beautiful house that was at the very top of our price range, she called us immediately when the price was reduced. She encouraged us to make an offer and negotiated with the sellers and their agent for hours to make sure we got the best deal possible. I know that buying a house is a very involved and sometime trying process, but this time it was made all the more difficult by sellers who were not even close to accommodating. She navigated us through this very tricky process and we just closed on our house this week. We could not be happier.

Last December we sold our house of 12 years in Cranford, NJ and closed on a new house in Short Hills, NJ. The time frame in which we bought and sold was very short—we were driven by our desire to minimize the commute for our children to their new schools. Our moving experience was a very good one. It went extremely smoothly and with very little (almost none, in fact) stress involved. A major reason for this was our real estate agent, Sharon Steele.
My husband Richard and I have moved house a number of times, including across continents. We have never had such an engaged, determined and helpful agent as Sharon. Sharon essentially led us through every step of the process and took on as many things as she could to minimize our “house-moving distractions” considering we both have full time jobs and a lot going on. However, Sharon was able to very effectively read the situation (regarding the seller’s motivation to sell) and work with both the seller and his agent to get us what amounted to an amazing deal. Her ability to negotiate and deal with people was the catalyst that got us the house we really wanted. We are very happy in the new house, and we owe a lot to Sharon.
