Any idea what “Yapple” is? Is it a flavor? Somebody’s last name? A character in a Dr. Seuss book? Nobody knows. But judging from the popularity of the frozen yogurt restaurant in Westfield, nobody cares much, either.
Yapple Yogurt is a self serve facility, which makes it a lot of fun for the kids. OK – and for the adults, too. Price is determined by the weight of your purchase. Yogurt flavors are abundant, toppings are even MORE abundant, and you could literally go every day and have something completely different. And be completely huge. Of course there are the standard flavors . . . chocolate, vanilla, etc., but there is also watermelon, birthday cake, cinnamon bun, salted caramel pretzel (OMG!), and other unique flavors to choose from.
And if the flavors aren’t enough to tickle your sense of taste, wait until you see how your sense of sight is tickled! The ceiling is covered with multi-colored light bulbs. If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like from the inside of a Lite Brite toy, wonder no more. Walls painted with pictures and murals so colorful it looks like a Crayola delivery truck exploded in the middle of the facility. Think of it as kind of “frozen yogurt restaurant meets night club and preschool.” It is an upbeat, fun, and absolutely delicious place to be. Which is probably why it is never empty. It’s the perfect place to go after a movie, at the end of a sports game, or when you just want to keep the kids entertained. Oh, heck, it’s a great place to stop on your way home from work WITHOUT the kids!
When he opened the franchise last year, owner Andy Lin said he was drawn to the Westfield location because “he wanted to bring his self-serve yogurt business to a bustling downtown area.” And because “Westfield is a great town.” He certainly chose location well. A 116 Elm Street, right in the very heart of the Westfield shopping district, the place is hopping!
Yapple Yogurt. Fun to say, even more fun to visit! Really hard to say with frozen yogurt in your mouth.
