For those of you lamenting the demise of summer . . . it’s time to look forward. Embrace the Autumn and the beauty it brings. While the days of lying on the beach might be over for now, the cool, crisp, colorful beauty of Fall should not be overlooked, nor should the good times it can bring. And here’s a perfect opportunity to jump onto the Autumn bandwagon.
On Sunday, September 29th, from 11:00 – 5:00 (rain or shine), you and the whole family can welcome Autumn at the Trailside Nature and Science Center in nearby Watchung, at the Harvest Festival. If you haven’t yet taken advantage of their beautiful hiking trails, the horseback riding, or the child-friendly science center, here’s a great chance to get a first taste of this nearby gem.
For and admission fee of $4 (children 7 and under are free), families can enjoy music and entertainment, storytelling, Native American artifacts and crafts, games for children, petting zoo, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, farmer’s market, scarecrow building . . . . . you name a Fall treat for kids, and they’ve got it! And food . . . don’t forget food. It’s a fun filled family day out, and it’s so nearby. And definitely check out all of the other facilities and activities Trailside offers while you are there, many of which are free of charge. It is a fabulous resource for Union County residents, that you will want to return to again and again with the kids. Check it out! UCNJ.org
