It’s worth getting on the mailing list for their advertisement flyers for the entertainment value alone. The hilarious descriptions and drawn graphics make it resemblant of a J. Peterman catalogue. (Check out their website at http://www.traderjoes.com, although the mailers are much more fun!)
People travel from miles around to shop at Trader Joe’s, as it has established itself as a chain of an entirely different flavor than most. You can pick up food items here that you could never find anywhere else . . . . things that you may never have even known existed! There are more varieties of cheeses than you would ever even have thought were possible. Every conceivable vegetable has been made into chips and is sold by the bag. Pre-made gourmet wraps, sandwiches, and salads of so many varieties your head will spin. Any kind of nut or seed you can imagine. It’s sort of a gourmet, health, and oddity store that is just plain fun to shop in. And the prices are very reasonable! It has an entirely different feel than a regular grocery store.
And here is the “piece du resistance!” It also houses a wine and spirits section. If you have never hear of “3 Buck Chuck,” then you’ve been missing out! People come just for the Charles Shaw wine, Trader Joe’s own, and fill up boxes at a time. Because it costs only $2.99 a bottle, comes in every color and variety imaginable, and it is really, really GOOD!!!! A fabulous value! And Trader Joe’s of Westfield has it’s own parking area, located right alongside the store at 155 Elm Street. Give it a try, pick up something new and different, and enjoy it at home with a glass of 3 Buck Chuck!
