Buying from out of state – so very very thankful!

We wanted to share with you our recent extraordinary experience with Sharon Steele. We recently purchased our first home in Cranford, NJ, and could not have asked for a more positive first home-buying experience. As first-time buyers, we were (understandably) a bit nervous about the whole home-finding and home-buying process, but Sharon went above and beyond for us and within two and a half months of walking through “our house,” she helped us become homeowners. As out of state purchasers, we came back to Cranford sporadically to look at open houses and occasionally view particular homes, and on one of those trips we took a look at a home Sharon was showing. We were impressed by her knowledge of Cranford, experience in the area, and her overall attitude and sense of humor. When we met one-on-one with Sharon, she sat us down and walked through the entire home-buying process in New Jersey, from contract to closing, and made sure both that she understood what we were looking for in a house and that we understood how she could help in that process and what to expect.  Honestly, in all our meetings with potential agents and our contact with agents at open houses, Sharon was the first agent we found that took the time to get to know our needs and make sure that we understood the process. We were hooked! We found our “dream house” through an open house and contacted Sharon as we pulled out of the driveway. As out-of-state purchasers, we were definitely not the easiest of clients, and Sharon bent over backwards to accommodate us. She literally had an offer to the sellers within hours of our decision to bid on the house and, although we were out-of-state for almost the entire process, Sharon made it feel easy. She arranged her schedule to be present at meetings and inspections that we couldn’t attend, picked up our earnest money checks from family members in Cranford, and was available by email, phone, or text whenever we had a question (and we had a lot). When Sharon learned that we would be using USAA for our mortgage, she went out of her way to learn about their preferred realtor program and signed herself up, earning us a rebate from USAA as well. Even after closing, Sharon has passed on useful Cranford info, coordinated meetings and appointments, and been continually willing to help us get settled. We couldn’t have asked for a more positive experience, and will definitely be looking to her when it comes time to sell our home. In any case, we wanted to share our great experience with Sharon, and we’re sure that you already know that she is a fabulous asset for Coldwell Banker.
