Paws For A Cause 11/18/2012
Bikathons, walkathons, we’ve seen and participated in them all, and they are all for a good cause. Now there’s a way to include your best fuzzy friend in the charity work. Leash up the dogs and help to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer! You and your pooch can be a part of the 1st “Bark For Life”. Bark For Life supports the American Cancer Society’s mission “to save lives and create a world with more birthdays,” by helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back. This walk will take place rain or shine, and will even feature paw-friendly activities and contests throughout the event. Join as a team, group, individual walker, volunteer, or sponsor.
The walk will take place at Oak Ridge Park, at 136 Oak Ridge Road in Clark, beginning at the West Loop, from 10:00 – 2:00. Costs are:Pre-Registration: $10 one walker, $20 one walker + one dog, $30 one walker + two dogs. Day of event Registration: $10 one walker, $30 one walker + one dog, $40 one walker + two dogs. All walkers are encouraged to get sponsors to help raise more funds for this cause.
You have to walk the dog anyway . . . why not help out a good cause while doing so? (Maybe bringing an empty plastic bag in your pocket wouldn’t be such a bad idea!) Help someone you know and love, or someone you don’t, fight cancer and get a “new leash on life!” For more information, visit the website at http://www.relayforlife.org/BarkMetroNJ
