For many, running or walking for exercise or fun is a short period of freedom. A chance to escape the humdrum of everyday parenting stresses and demands, and enjoy the outdoors and the wind and sun on your face. But the trick can be finding the TIME for that freedom. Finding coverage for the kids while you run a 5K might seem an unattainable dream.
But what if you could take the kids WITH you?
On Saturday, May 4th, at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, NJ, The Mothers’ Center of Central NJ is holding a “Miles With Moms 5K.” The second annual run/walk through Oak Ridge Park is open to all runners, walkers, moms or dads pushing strollers, and kids. A kids’ fun run will also be offered. What a great experience for families to share together, in a totally relaxing atmosphere, while enjoying the beauty of the park on a Spring day!
Registration is open until April 27th, and can be done online at http://www.active.com/running/clark-nj/miles-with-moms-5k-2013 . Check-in is from 8:00-9:00 AM on the morning of the race, and the run itself will begin at 9:30. All proceeds will benefit The Mothers’ Center of Central NJ.
