Winter is a time to snuggle into a familiar place, keep warm with friends and loved ones, and enjoy some good old fashioned comfort food. The problem is, who can snuggle and cook at the same time? Luckily, there’s a nearby place that is a local favorite, boasts a host of regulars, has a comfortable atmosphere, and specializes in comfort foods and drinks.
Open for lunch and dinner, Jeffery’s of Westfield, at 114 Central Avenue West in Westfield N.J., offers a menu of American classics, including meat, pasta and fish dishes. Decorated with an eclectic mix of fun Americana décor, there is a sizable and usually crowded bar separate from the dining room.
Trained chef and owner Jeffrey Rust comes from a long line of Westfield business owners, and loves to make himself available to customers with warm greetings and laughs, to ensure that his restaurant welcomes regulars as well as newcomers. He works daily to prepare creative American gourmet comfort food, all of which is homemade, including everything from the salad dressings to the ice creams and desserts. The menu changes often to make the most and the best of local providers each season. It’s a perfect place to go for cocktails and appetizers, or for complete lunch or dinner. A prix fixe menu is also available. And Jeffrey’s was the first restaurant in Westfield to receive a Wine Spectator Magazine Award of Excellence and cellars over 600 bottles, many available by the glass to enjoy in the cozy Americana atmosphere.
So if you want to enjoy some hearty comfort food and spirits, but don’t want to prepare it, give Jeffrey’s a try. Chances are you’ll join the list of “regulars.” Check out their website, including the menu, at http://www.jeffreysofwestfield.com/index.html
