“Am I Paying Too Much On My Property Taxes?” Seminar
Ben Franklin was a super-intelligent dude, so we all pretty much take him at face value when he is quoted as saying, “The only things certain in life are death and taxes.” While it may be true that we can’t eliminate either one of those things, we certainly have the power to better both of them. Just as we make healthy food choices and exercise to stave off death, there actually is something we can do if we think our property taxes are unfairly high.
On Thursday, March 21st, from 7:00-8:30 PM, MY OFFICE, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield West Office, (a business located at 600 North Ave West in Westfield across from Lord & Taylor ), will offer a seminar entitled “Is A Property Tax APpeal Right For You?” The seminar itself will take place at the Coldwell Banker Office and it is absolutely free.
George Kraus, Branch Vice President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, will be delivering the seminar, in order to enable participants to determine if their property value has been over-assessed, and give them the knowledge and tools to successfully challenge their assessment in their township. Over-assessment happens more often than you would think. And, let’s be honest, while many of us may complain about a raise in our property taxes, probably very few knew there was actually something to be done about it. Apparently, just last year alone, almost 60,000 homeowners in the state of NJ challenged and appealed their assessments, and almost two thirds of them actually succeeded in having their property assessments lowered, saving some homeowners over $10,000 a year! Can you imagine?!
While the seminar is free, there is limited seating, so you do need to call ahead at (908)233-6126 to reserve your seat. Light refreshments will be served, along with big helpings of useful information!
