Whoever said there’s no such thing as a free lunch clearly hasn’t eaten at The Rustic Mill Diner on North Ave in Cranford! Monday through Friday, Rustic Mill raffles off a free lunch every half hour between 12:00 and 2 pm. (My ticket was only one number off the last time I was there–grrrr!) And if you happen to eat there regularly with your kids, make sure to take home those paper placements before they get splattered with ketchup–for every three kids’ placemats you collect, you get a FREE kid’s meal! Kids also love the permanent Christmas tree in the lobby of the diner, which the staff decorates year-round for various holidays.
Something else I noticed recently–Rustic Mill delivers if you place your order through Delivery Now (www.deliverynow.com)! Now I won’t even have to get into my car to get my beloved chicken gyro. This could be dangerous, people.

The Rustic Mill Diner has been serving up comfort food to locals for more than FORTY years. A good friend heartily recommends the Mill Omelette, which is filled with asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, tomatoes, and Monterey Jack cheese. Sounds almost healthy enough to offset a big ol’ slice of their lemon meringue pie! Like most diners, Rustic Mill serves breakfast all day, but give their entrees a try–you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the kabobs!

You can find the Rustic Mill Diner at 109 North Ave in Cranford, with plenty of free parking in the back. And seriously, isn’t free parking almost better than good food?!
