“Rubber ducky, you’re the one! You make bath time so much fun . . . . !”
Sorry to quote Ernie, but Sesame Street isn’t the only place to enjoy rubber duckies.
Hanson Park Conservancy’s annual Rubber Ducky Derby is scheduled once again for Sunday, October 13, 2013. This is such a fun event! There’s nothing like enjoying the sight of hundreds of rubber ducks floating downstream, with the town cheering them on! Hundreds of individually-numbered rubber ducks will be released in the Rahway River, at Sperry Park, and travel over the falls, to the laughter and delight of onlookers, as they race to the finish line at the North Union Ave Bridge. A dozen prizes for twelve lucky duckies will be awarded, with the top prize being a $250.00 gift card.
Tickets are on sale right now, and can be purchased at Joanie’s Café, Periwinkles,( both on North Union Avenue in downtown Cranford), or the Cranford Canoe Club (on Springfield Ave.). Purchase a single Duck for only $5.00, or a flock of 5 ducks for $20.00 so the whole family can race against each other! All proceeds from the event benefit Hanson Park, located at 38 Springfield Ave. Ducks are limited in number, so get yours NOW to avoid disappointment!
Imagine – ducks that you don’t have to feed, that don’t make noise, and don’t leave “presents” behind. But ducks that might WIN you a present! This is so much fun – don’t miss out!!!!
