Centennial Village Music Festival
It’s that time of year again! On Saturday, September 15th, residents of Cranford and surrounding communities can come out and have a little fun at the Centennial Avenue Music Festival, centered in the parking lot behind Lincoln Avenue School.
This is always a town favorite! It’s a fun, family-friendly environment. While local and diverse bands provide great music, families can enjoy a variety of available foods. BYOC! (Bring your own chairs), and stay all day and into the evening! It’s a safe environment for the neighborhood kids to run around and play and enjoy each other, while the adults do the same thing . . . . maybe with a little less running around. There are raffles and prizes, and a whole lot of relaxed fun to be had.
Admission is free, (Yay! Free!), although donations are encouraged. All proceeds will go to the Centennial Village Group, a non-profit organization whose mission is the “revitalization and beautification of the Centennial Avenue Corridor,” the area between Lincoln Ave. and the Garden State Parkway. The Centennial Village Group is run by volunteers and works closely with local business owners and politicians to carry out their mission. The organization is primarily responsible for the fabulous new look of the area, including new street lights and sidewalks.
What a fun way to enjoy some free tunes, some laughs with the neighbors, good times, while simultaneously helping to revitalize the town!
