Ah! The weather is warming up!  The flowers are beginning to bloom!  Baby birds are hatching!  Buds are on the trees!  It must be time for . . . . the BAS FALL 5K and 1 Mile fun Run!

Confused?  Well, don’t be.  This event WAS originally scheduled for the Fall, but had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy.  So now, the Fall run is being held this Spring, on Sunday, April 21^st, at Bloomingdale Avenue School at 200 Bloomingdale Avenue in Cranford.  Registration will begin at 7:00 AM, the Fun Run, which is 1 mile long, will begin at 8:00 AM, and the 5K will begin at 8:30 AM.  Interested runners can register at http://www.bestrace.com/Bloomingdale5k/ .  Running the 5K costs $22.00, with a $3.25 sign up fee, and the 1 Mile Fun Run costs $10.00 with a $2.75 sign up fee.  Proceeds will benefit the PTA of both Bloomingdale Avenue School and Orange Avenue School.  And there’s even fun for the non-runners, including refreshments, music, a DJ, and a bounce house!

So thumb your nose at Hurricane Sandy.  She may have delayed the race, but she didn’t stop it!  Dress yourself in oranges, browns, and other Fall colors, and enjoy the Spring weather during the BAS Fall 5K and Fun Run!
