Well, the Christmas TV commercials have been running for about two months now, and the stores had their holiday displays out a month before that, so it must be Thanksgiving time! That means that now Christmas really IS right around the corner! And it’s showing up on the corner of North Union and Springfield Avenues on Friday, November 28th, here in Cranford.
The holiday welcoming festivities begin the day after Thanksgiving at 11:00 AM, with the decorating of the town center tree at the gazebo. As usual, several groups will be helping out with the tree decorating . . . . . the Daisies at 11:00 AM, the Brownies at 11:30 AM, and the Jr. and Sr. Cadets at 12:00 PM. By 12:30 PM, the tree will be ready for display. (Clonazepam)
Some of the afternoon holiday events will take place at a new location this year – at Parking Lot #7 on Miln Street. From 1:00PM – 4:00PM the kids (and adults) can enjoy the petting zoo, a moon walk, and horse-drawn wagon rides (free seating for approx.14 passengers per ride, route in town), making it feel like an old-fashioned Christmas.
Then, at North Union and Springfield Avenues, near the gazebo and tree, the Cindy Smith Dancers will perform from 4:30 PM-5:00 PM, there will be a concert by the High School Madrigal and Brass Ensemble from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM, and then . . . . . the grand finale . . . . the big guy! Santa Arrives to officially light the holiday tree at 6:00 PM, and will then visit with children in the gazebo for pictures ($3.00 per child) until the very last child.
It’s the official Cranford Christmas Kick-off! Don’t miss it!
