Who doesn’t love a good yard sale? Fall just seems to be the perfect season for them, too. Throw on a sweatshirt, head out into the crisp morning air, and find some treasures. Or, better yet, station yourself on the OTHER side of the table, and get rid of that household clutter you’ve been dying to purge.
And now you can double the pleasure . . . . . clean out your closets and basement, AND support Project Home of Cranford. Simply go to www.cranfordprojecthome.org for a registration form (no names will be printed on the maps just addresses), and send it, along with a $20.00 registration fee, (you can easily pay twice that price when you advertise for a yard sale on your own) to “Project Home of Cranford, P.O. Box 724, Cranford NJ 07016.” Hurry – registration forms must be received by October 1st! All participants of the garage sale will then be listed on a map that can be printed out from Project Home’s website on 10/5/13, with additional copies available at the Community Center. People from surrounding communities look forward to taking advantage of this yearly event, so there is usually a great turn-out. You get rid of your clutter, you make a few bucks, and the registration fee you pay helps out Project Home of Cranford.
Project Home assists families who are in danger of losing their homes or apartments due to crisis situations, such as job loss or catastrophic illness. Since 1988 Cranford residents have been contributing to Project Home, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Then all fundraising dollars are distributed by Cranford Family Care, which screens and qualifies Cranford residents for assistance, so they can remain in the community they call home while working through tough times.
