            Coolvines, located at 127 Central Avenue in Westfield, (as well as a store in Princeton), offers complimentary wine tastings every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM, wine dinners, classes, and special in-store events, and even home delivery.  They have created a place where anyone, even the wine-unsavy, can feel comfortable shopping for wine without feeling overwhelmed and under-educated.  They take pride in hand-selecting their wines, which means their shelves might now always house the “typical” or well known names, but instead has those made by lesser known dedicated wine makers who offer more of a “great find.”

            The wines here are arranged by taste, and are accompanied by a guide to help customers choose a wine according to preferences and occasions.  In order to assist with selections, they provide a labeling system, represented in a simple visual format,  that explains the character of the wine with regard to its taste and its affiliation with different foods.  It’s an easy to understand system so that customers can peruse and choose on their own, but the staff is always ready to lend a knowledgeable helping hand.  All you have to do is tell them what you like, what you’re going to be eating, how much you’re looking to spend, and they can hook you up with the perfect match!
