Do you like the idea of a book club, but not the pressure of finishing the required reading before a meeting? No one likes having to fake their way through a book club meeting. It can be a very embarrassing way to find out that “Catcher In The Rye” is NOT about a NY deli. So, think of this as “book club lite.”
The Cranford Public Library is launching “Books And Bagels,” a group open to anyone and everyone, meeting one Saturday morning a month, with the first meeting taking place on March 2nd at 10:00 AM. It couldn’t be easier or less stressful. Simply show up, bring a favorite book that you have read, and be prepared to tell the others in the group what you liked about it. That’s it. No pressure. No required reading. And, perhaps best of all, it’s a great way to get book recommendations from others. Refreshments are available, courtesy of The Friends of the Cranford Public Library. For questions about Books & Bagels, contact program coordinator Sally Hanford at 908-709-7272, ext. 2104, or s-hanford@cranfordnj.org.
Finally, a book club for the lazy and the time deprived!
