A Splash of Thai in Westfield NJ

 

                Located at 321 South Avenue West in Westfield, A Splash Of Thai looks small and innocuous from the outside.  But the inside is lovely, and creates a wonderfully relaxing, Eastern ambiance.  And you CAN relax, because unlike so many businesses in the area, there is free customer parking in the rear!  They’ve done so well for themselves here, that they now have a second location in Somerville. 

            Vichaya, the chef, is a Thailand native, who gleaned his love of Asian cooking from his Mom, who is also a professional chef.  (She now works at both restaurant locations, as well!)  Both chefs agree that many of the items on the menu were inspired from dishes made in Vichaya’s childhood.  A mix of Thai, Asian, and French flavors and techniques (Vichaya attended the French Culinary Institute in NYC), he has created a fresh, unique twist on traditional Asian Fusion.  The menu is vast and unique . . . and don’t be shy about trying the wild boar, or the spicy squid salad!  You’ll be very pleasantly surprised!!!  The restaurant is BYOB . . . . . hmmm . . . . what wine goes best with wild boar??!
