July means it’s time for the annual opening of the Westfield Farmer’s Market! This outdoor market features a variety of farm fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade items, flowers and plants and more. The farmers market is every Saturday from 9-2 and runs from July through October, conveniently located in the South Avenue Parking lot of the train station.
The farmers market usually has at least two actual farms selling a variety of fruits and vegetables. Depending on the timing, you can get corn, blueberries, peaches, cantaloupes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and so much more! Everything is fresh, fragrant, delicious, and reasonably priced. And as an added bonus, there is often a represented bakery, a nut vendor, and fresh ravioli, meatballs and other Italian specialties. There’s often even an old fashioned pickle vendor! It’s great fun to peruse the vendors to see what unique things you can stock up on each week, often for a lot less than you would pay for lesser quality at a grocery store.
Check it out, and remind yourself of how lucky we are to live in “The Garden State!”
