Butcher Block

 If you’re looking for a great place to have lunch, just follow the lines of people in the know.  (Don’t worry . . . the line is always fast moving!)  In business since 1965, the family-owned Butcher Block butcher, deli, and market has that old fashioned, home-town, Mom and Pop store feel that keeps its regular customers coming back to pick up what they need and to shoot the breeze with the staff and each other.  It’s the place where kids stop after school to pick up a snack and a drink, and are welcomed by the warm-hearted staff.  Employees here are friendly, helpful and know most of their customers by name.  Step through the front door, and you’ll feel like you stepped back in time about 50 years to a time of hometown comfort.   The store’s large deli serves a selection of incredibly delicious breakfast sandwiches, meat-packed subs, cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, wraps, hot dishes, cold cut platters, and salads, all made right on the premises.  My personal favorite is the Rib-eye Steak Sandwich…. no one makes it better than Bruce and his staff!  They are well known to many in the area for their take-out dinners of rotisserie chicken and macaroni and cheese (offered after 4:30pm Monday – Friday).  If you want a real treat, pick up one of their marinated flank steaks to throw on your grill.  YUM!!!  And if they aren’t happy about a cut of meat, they won’t sell it to you. The shop also includes a small liquor store with beer, wine and spirits. The convenience store area of the shop has aisles packed with essentials like soda, dish soap, toilet paper, canned goods, pasta, potato chips, soda, fresh fruit and more.  There are a few tables on the premises to allow customers the opportunity to eat in as well as take out. It is located in the heart of Centennial Village at 209 Centennial Avenue, and you can fax or call in your order for fast & easy pick-up!
