If you like to finish up a round of golf with a big plate of quesadillas and a margarita, then this news might come as a bit of a shock to you. On the other hand, if you like to finish off a game of golf with a burger and a beer, this will be very intriguing to you. And, hey, if you don’t like golf at all, but want a great new place to eat, read on . . . .
The restaurant at Clark’s Hyatt Hills Golf Course has recently changed management, and will no longer be Senorita’s Mexican grill. It will now be run by locals Brian Costello and chef Brian Walter, partners from Fanwood’s Oh Brian’s Pourhouse, (previously known as “Flannery’s”).
The new restaurant will be more of a 19th-hole sports bar, with some Irish cuisine, of course. The menu will include some Oh Brian’s signatures like the 10-ounce burger, fish-and-chips, and shepherd’s pie, but will also include a full variety of other things, and be more of an American grill.
While interior design changes are being made, the restaurant is open and operating as the “Hyatt Hills Pub,” but it will be renamed upon completion. It currently features live entertainment from Thursday to Sunday and offers a Sunday brunch. Look for more changes to come after the golf season, and look for an official grand opening sometime near the end of the summer.
Costello was recently quoted on Patch as saying, “We believe that this location is a great location not only for townships of Clark and Cranford, but we hope when people come in and have fun and try our food in our environment it will be a destination restaurant that you’d go to a full 12 months of the year.”
Given the popularity of the golf course, it is likely to become a destination restaurant by default. So why not “drive” over and “putt” your faith in this new place to “score?”
