A Guest Post from Elizabeth Matheiu…. A Visit To In-N-Out Dog Wash in Garwood
Our old guy hadn’t had a bath in months. He can’t get all the way up the stairs anymore and we just can’t carry him, so my husband and I have been watching and waiting for the new In-N-Out Dog Wash to open on North Avenue in Garwood. We thought this would be the perfect way to get our Banji clean, and it was! We stopped in last weekend and Mike Kelly, the owner, greeted us at the door. Mike’s a local guy and we went to Cranford High School together. Not only did I want to try the self-service concept but I wanted to support a fellow Cranfordite. Mike helped us get Banji up the ramp and into the tub and then showed us how to use everything. In each wash station, there is a mixture of water and shampoo with which to wash and then a quick switch of the dial and plain water is available for the rinse. In-N-Out provides towels to wipe off the excess water and a blow dryer to help with drying. It was awesome! No bathroom to clean up, no dog hair in my drain, no back strain leaning over the tub and we have one clean dog!
What a fabulous addition to the neighborhood! So, take a half hour out of your busy schedule, put the dog in the car and take him over to In-N-Out for a quick bath. You will be so happy that you did! In-N-Out Dog Wash offers “Do It Yourself” facilities as well as a full array of dog grooming services such as bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning etc.
Hours are 8am- 7pm M-F, Saturdays 9am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm

This is a great idea. I have had those tough times getting a nervous and jumpy golden first in the tub….and then containing him inside….and then the arduous task of removing the wet beast from the tub and all the wonderful shaking and flinging of water that that entails….this sounds so civilized. Good luck to the owners!
