Forget about helping Mom with Spring cleaning . . . it’s time to help out Mother Nature with Fall cleaning!
This year, the Cranford River Maintenance Committee will hold its annual Fall Rahway River cleanup on Saturday, October 18th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. All Cranford residents are encouraged to lend a hand by helping to clean up this vitally important local resource.
Cleanups will be conducted at the following stations: Kenilworth Blvd. . . . 620 Riverside Drive . . . The Mill . . . . and Mohawk Drive. Water, coffee, and donuts will be served at the Hanson House prior to the clean-up. Gloves and bags and other equipment necessary for clean-up will be provided. It is requested that children under 12 be accompanied by an adult. All participants will receive a free T-shirt and gift bag as a thank you from the Clean Communities Committee.
This is such a wonderful activity to get the kids involved in! It teaches them not only the importance of community involvement, but also of caring for our Earth and our local resources. If kids truly learn by doing, then this activity simply can’t be beat!
