There’s a reason the novel and subsequent movie, “Eat, Pray, Love,” enjoyed such popularity. There is something very attractive about the notion of learning Italian as an adult, just because you want to, travelling to beautiful Italy, and living out a dream from your bucket list. And there is something so undeniably beautiful, so engaging, so romantic, about the Italian language. “Siamo fuori di carta igienica” just rolls off the tongue with so much more class than “We are out of toilet paper,” doesn’t it?
Well, now you can follow the dream and cross this one off of your bucket list, and learn Italian right here in Cranford. Ciao Amici Italian Language lessons, at 25 North Avenue W. in Cranford, can help you to do just that. They offer an opportunity to learn this beautiful language and about the equally beautiful corresponding culture in a fun, casual, non-threatening environment. Lessons are offered for all levels, from beginner through advanced, by a native Italian speaker and seasoned instructor. Too skittish to take private lesons? Why not grab a few friends or family members and enroll in a group lesson. How much fun would that be? Set aside a time each week to enjoy a meal at one of the many fine Italian restaurants in town, and finish the outing off with the fun of learning Italian together. Or try one of the specialty programs, teaching Italian through the lens of opera and Italian cuisine. (Now THAT would be a good one to coordinate with a dinner out, wouldn’t it?) Group and private lessons are available for adults, teenagers, children and, believe it or not, even toddlers. Individual tutoring for high school and college students is also available.
Instructor Filomena Coccaro was born and raised in Italy, and graduated from the University of Rome( “La Sapienza”). She moved to the United States in 1996, right here in Cranford, and has been teaching the Italian language and experience here for the last ten years. Class and instruction times are available throughout the week. If you are interested, check out the website at http://www.learnitaliannj.com/ .
