Cranford Roots: A Family Story of Love and Sports

I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Cranford, NJ. My husband Bob and I met at Hillside Avenue School in 7th grade. We started dating in high school. Bob has proudly served with the Westfield Fire Department for 20 years and is now Deputy Chief. We’ve always been involved in sports here in Cranford. I played softball and field hockey, while Bob played baseball and football. We married in 2007 and have two boys, Cooper (15) and Luke (13). They follow in our footsteps, playing baseball and football for Cranford. We couldn’t be prouder of them! Our family loves Living in Cranford, NJ!

Inspiration Behind Bow & Arrow Custom Designs

What inspired you to start Bow & Arrow Custom Designs, and how has your background in graphic design influenced you? I majored in Visual Communications/Graphic Design in college. Although I never found my dream job in that field, I worked for a great law firm. However, I always found ways to fulfill my love for creating art. Whether it was photography for my kids’ sports teams or designing logos and invitations for friends, I kept creating. Starting my own business this year has been incredible. Finally, I’m achieving my lifelong dream of creating products from start to finish.

Cranford Vibes Influence Bow & Arrow Custom Designs’ Unique Designs

What is your favorite part of living and working in Cranford, and how does the local vibe influence your designs? The people I’ve met here are the best part of living and working in Cranford. I’ve received tremendous support from family and friends in town for my new venture, and I truly feel blessed. The local vibe heavily influences many of my designs, especially the sports-themed ones. At baseball and football games, I often meet parents and kids who want customized hats. It’s so rewarding to see people around town wearing their Bow & Arrow creations!

The wooden signs and boards you make are so special. Can you share a story behind one of the more meaningful custom signs you’ve been asked to create? Each handwritten recipe board holds sentimental value for my customers. It’s amazing to see an old recipe come to life on a cutting board. One customer shared that it was her great-great-grandmother’s recipe. Her mother was in tears when she received it. It’s touching to create something that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Although I’m a busy working mom, I ensure every Bow & Arrow Custom Designs product is completed and ready for my customers.
