“Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name.” Those lyrics from the iconic Cheers theme song ring true for so many patrons who’ve enjoyed a meal or drink at The Cranford Hotel. With its rows of tall windows topped with crimson awnings, the Hotel is one of the most recognizable buildings in town. Commuters stop at the Hotel bar on their way home for a burger and a beer. Families share al fresco dinners out on the patio. Couples request the cozy booths by the crackling fire in the dining room. Simply put, The Cranford Hotel appeals to every age. My son worked there and can vouch that the staff members have a knack for remembering their repeat visitors–“and they’re always glad you came.”
