The Cranford Campus of Union County College is hosting summer programs for children ages 11 to 17 who are enthused about gaining some college experience. Summer classes cover a wide range of interests in the fields of Math, Writing, Reading and test preparation for families who want to use the summer to brush up on their skills and gain an academic edge.
Among the classes offered are Reading Enhancement, Middle School Math Review, Rollercoaster Writng and Expository Writing.
Tweens and teens seeking to develop new skills while having fun can choose from an array of technology, art and music classes. In these categories, the College will be holding classes in Guitar, Design Your Own Comic Book, The Artist Within and Build Your Own Web Page.
To enhance the aptitude of students interested in technology, the College is presenting several classes focused on computers and gaming. These classes are made available under a partnership with Black Rocket Productions. These summer course offerings will include Lego Films and Stop Action, X Games: The Ultimate Video Game Experience, Make Your First Video Game and Make Your First App.
Classes start on June 25 and courses can be completed in one or two weeks. Morning classes are reserved for kids from 11 to 14 . Afternoon classes are for students over 14 years old and older. Course fee is $185.00
All classes will be moderated by qualified instructors. Most of the instructors have earned their state certifications.
